![]() Love him or hate him, there is no middle ground for this guitar player. Only Rush Limbaugh gathers more extreme loathing and appreciation. Famous for Neo- Classical rock and roll which he created with influences from Richie Blackmore and Jimi Hendrix and Pagaini, he sent many guitar players back to the woodshed in the early 80's. Largely dismissed in the "grunge infested" 90's, he remains extremely popular in Japan and Europe where musical appreciation is not so "trendy" and controlled by MTV. His first solo CD "Rising Force" is one of the first shredder guitar albums which took the guitar beyond the Eddie Van Halen school of music. His album Yngwie Malmsteens "Rising Force" is a classic album you just gotta have in your music collection. On this page and the following three pages I have photos I took from a show here in Orlando Florida on 31 Oct 1999 at the Fairbanks Inn. (FBI). This was the first show of Yngwie's current 1999-2000 world tour and he put on a great 2 hour and twenty minute show. |
