Rick Derringer

Rick Derringer has been around the Rock & Roll Scene about at long as anyone. I first saw him in 1965 opening for the Rolling Stones while playing with the The McCoys (Hang on Sloopy) and have seen him many times since as a solo act. While a lot of people do not think of him as a hot rod guitar player with tons of technique, he has all the ability can keep up with any of today's r 'hot rod' players. Rick Derringer provides an entertaining show with everything from new rock and roll, to blues and even transports in time back to 1965 with 'Hang on Sloopy'. He has done everything from being lead guitar with Edger Winter to producing albums for Weird Al Yankovic not to mention his solo career.

If you have a chance to get his CD "Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer Live in Japan" grab it immediately. Its rare as the record company went belly up immediately after release, but it has a great version of 'Blood from a Stone' on it which has never been released anywhere else. (At least at the time of this writing).

In the last few years Rick has been playing a lot of blues and has released Three CD's of Blues Tunes. They are Back To The Blues (1993) and Electra Blues (1994) on Blue's Bureau Records. Both are well worth purchasing. His latest CD was due out on Code Blue Records last October, but it has been delayed and will be released on another label. Stop by the Official Rick Derringer Web Site. and tell them Murf sent ya!!!!

If he is in your area, Murf says "See The Show", you will not be disappointed.
